Bison Red, following a momentum-building 19-0 run in the first half, took a 24-point lead before Nevada responded by scoring the final eight points of the half and continued to cut into Bison Red’s lead in the second half. Indiana Faith jumped to a 12-4 lead and while Bison Red battled back and trailed by only one, 38-37, with 9:03 left in the game, it was never able to take the lead. Forced to foul in the final three minutes of the game, Bison Red saw Indiana Faith make 12 straight free throws in the final 2:57. Bison Red pulled to within five points with 1:10 left in the game, but couldn’t get any closer as Indiana Faith continued its torrid free throw shooting, making eight straight in the final 1:02. Larson was 7-for-12 from the field and 7-for-8 from the free throw line. Lane McCallum and Jaxon Harre grabbed seven and six rebounds, respectively. Indiana Faith made 17 of 18 free throws in the game for 94 per cent. Bison Red’s 21 wins were the most since the 2013 team finished 23-4. It was the ninth time since Bison Red started playing multiple tournaments in 1998 that a team has reached the 20-win plateau.
